RSPCA

I wrote copy for online campaigns, banners and educational mobile phone games, and edited content for the Freedom Food website.

Freedom Food's aim is simple.

We’re the only UK farm assurance scheme dedicated to improving the lives of farm animals.

All farms approved by Freedom Food are assessed to RSPCA standards, which detail how farm animals should be reared and looked after throughout their lives.

So when you’re next food shopping make the right choice and look out for products with the Freedom Food logo.

Animals live and die in horrible conditions for the sake of science. We don’t believe animals should be treated as expendable research tools. Animal testing is cruel and unnecessary, and there are alternatives. Please sign our petition and help us to make is stop.

Lexus hybrid debate

I planned and wrote content for a site hosting debate and discussion of hybrid technology and its impact on the environment.

Could your choice of car change the world we live in? What would be the knock-on effects of a global switch to hybrid cars? Join the debate.

Swapping heavily-polluting vehicles for hybrids could drastically reduce greenhouse gases, cleaning our cities for a healthier population.

If hybrid cars entered the mainstream, could we reduce our dependence on oil? And if so, what would the political ramifications be?

Hybrid cars could bring awareness and investment to clean technologies and green business. But where there are winners, there must be losers.

We believe hybrid cars could have a profound impact on global society, leading to significant shifts in lifestyle and generational behaviour.

Hybrid cars are not like other cars.

The widespread acceptance of hybrid cars could change our society and environment beyond recognition. A major green victory, it has the potential to boost investment and development of clean technologies while putting old energy under threat. The knockdown effect of this could be some serious geopolitical shifts regarding our reliance upon the Middle East. The proliferation of hybrid cars could have an astonishing impact on urban design, and cleaner roads would certainly lead to a reduction in hearing and respiratory disease.

Is the world ready for these changes? Hybrid cars may be an evolutionary step up in automotive technology, but it is not good enough to simply compare them to the traditional concept of cars. We want to encourage an informed analysis and public debate amongst the advocates and the sceptics of the new technology.

We've enlisted a panel of experts to give us their advice and opinions on various aspects of the hybrid debate. The debate will be left open to the blogging community, generating an open and honest discussion among the wider public.

Prison Break

I wrote episode guides, cast profiles, blogs, news and features for Five’s most popular drama series.

Manhunt

“I wouldn’t mind swinging in a hammock for the next 10, 20 years…” Not a chance, Scofield. The Fox River Eight are running for their lives with Agent Mahone and Bellick hot on their trail. The fugitives make some headway when they steal a car and, desperate for money and clothes, Michael instructs Lincoln to drive towards Oswego where he has everything in storage. Crippled and desperate, T-Bag threatens a vet into sewing back his dismembered hand.

An awestruck Mahone cracks the tattooed code to Michael’s escape plans. He and Bellick race to the Oswego storage unit… but, of course, Michael’s a step ahead. The gear’s really stashed at a remote cemetery. Stooped over the grave, Mahone spots Michael scrabbling in the undergrowth, draws his weapon and gives chase. But the civilian-clothed escapees blend into the crowd.

Veronica gets into a dire situation with Steadman while, waking from her coma, Sara finds an origami bird in her purse. It contains a scribbled message from Michael: “There's a plan to make all of this right.”

Michael Scofield
Alias: Fish
played by Wentworth Miller
Reason to Run: To save his brother Lincoln from execution.

A tenacious fugitive and creative genius, Michael is compelled to help those who arouse his compassion. Michael never once doubted Lincoln’s innocence, dedicating himself to saving his brother from the electric chair. Michael got himself thrown into prison and set to work on the escape, a map of which he'd painstakingly had tattooed onto his arms and torso. Prison life was quite a shock to Michael – he learnt that getting on the wrong side of the wrong person can be deadly. He made friends with Westmoreland and Sucre; fell in love with Dr Tancredi; and earned the hatred of Bellick and T-Bag. Now on the run, the escape team’s lives are in Michael’s hands.

We've got some great new features to keep you Prison Break nuts amused...

Action man Dominic Purcell, who plays Lincoln, the man who started the whole mess in the first place, surveys the ever-growing pile of bodies and tells us how the escape is panning out for him in our exclusive interview. And if Michael and the boys' twisted lingo leaves you baffled, arm yourself with our new glossary of prison slang.

Three is the magic number

If Fox River whetted your appetite and the escape’s getting you all hot under the collar, you’re in for a treat. The answer to the question on everyone’s lips is YES, there is a third series in the pipeline. Prison Break creator Paul Scheuring and executive producer Matt Olmstead have been having clandestine meetings with Fox television executives and are concocting thrilling new storylines as we speak. Scheuring swears on his old Scout badge that it’s shaping up to be “a show unlike anything ever seen on TV before.” But what series three has in store for Michael and Lincoln remains a mystery – the producers are keeping it zipped. Who knows which characters will make it back…

The drugs don't work

We’ve all seen Agent Mahone choking back pills in times of trouble, but what’s his poison? We had a peek at the label and it’s doesn’t sound pretty. “Midazolam contains hypnotic, anticonvulsant, muscle relaxant and sedative properties. When administered orally, the ability to form memories may be lost. High potency and the quick acting effects limit this Schedule IV controlled substance to hospital administration only.” The mad-eyed agent is hooked on this incredibly potent drug, and we doubt very much he consulted his physician before taking it. Midazolam keeps Agent Mahone focused and alert when Michael’s running rings around him and, most importantly, it numbs the guilt of burying Oscar Shales under his patio. Enough so, in fact, that he could kill again…

Channel Five

I wrote and edited content for Channel Five's drama, soap and documentary microsites.

The Shield: Detective Vic Mackey
Played by Michael Chiklis

A cross between Grant Mitchell, Vin Diesel and a bulldog, Vic is the Strike Team’s cantankerous leader. He’s sturdy and belligerent and he operates a strictly zero-tolerance policy, stealing drugs, beating and torturing suspects when necessary. His past is gnarly to say the least: unbeknownst to many, he murdered the team’s fifth member, Terry Crowley, when he threatened to expose them. He’s no stranger to dirty tactics. Embezzlement, blackmail and burning rapists’ faces on hot stoves are all in a day’s work but this beefcake does have a soft side. He loves his children and gives respect where it’s due, but he struggles to hold it together when IAD comes at him from all sides and his buddies are picked off one by one.

CSI: Epispde 24
Way to go

The sixth series of our favourite Vegas-centric forensics drama goes out with a bang with the second half of the spine-tingling two-parter. While Brass struggles for his life after taking a bullet to the chest to protect an innocent hostage, the team struggles to make sense of two more bloodcurdling murders.

So, with the seasoned detective incapacitated the team is forced to take on two very strange cases without his steely guidance. Grissom is called from the hospital to the train tracks where a man with a bizarrely narrow waist, long-johns and no head lies.

He’s not a pretty sight: emerging from his neck is a bone-stump and a partially visible spinal cord clogged with oily dirt and dust, which corresponds with the obvious theory that the victim was decapitated by a train. But there isn’t enough blood at the scene for that. Nick locates the man’s head, bobbing away in the river below the tracks, along with fragments of bone and burnt clothing.

After a difficult day the team heads to the hospital with Brass’ estranged daughter, Ellie, to find out if the detective has made it through surgery. Emotions get the better of them and two of the CSIs decide to seize the moment, taking a step which CSI fans have been speculating over for weeks.

Grey's Anatomy: Meredith Grey
Played by Ellen Pompeo

Surgical intern Meredith is passionate, talented and destined for the top. As the daughter of Ellis Grey – one of Seattle’s most respected surgeons – she has great expectation to live up to. But her focus and dedication are tested when her mother is stricken with Alzheimer’s, a burden that she struggles to keep separate from her work. And when she 'accidentally' falls into bed with Sheppard, a senior surgeon, she worries that she’s crossed a dangerous line. With a tendency towards the melodramatic, she is also a little too forthcoming with advice for patients when it’s unwarranted.

House: Episode 24
No reason

It’s the House season finale and you just know it’s going to be emotional. House faces one more tricky patient and is plagued by a crisis of his own.

A hot and swollen tongue with a man attached is carted into the hospital. House is just getting to grips with Vince, who has a temperature of 103, when a man struts into the office, pulls out a gun and aims at him.

Next thing he knows, House is in bed looking up at Cameron’s face. A hospital bed, that is. Cameron explains that the bullet pierced his stomach, nicked his bowel and lodged in his rib, but House is no good at playing the victim - he staggers out to visit Vince and orders the junior doctors to carry out preliminary tests. Suddenly the shooter, Jack, is wheeled into the room, handcuffed to a bed - security cut him down as he tried to make his exit.

Is this real?

Sivakasi Times

I wrote articles and edited copy for an English-language magazine in Tamil Nadu, India.

Levi's

I wrote copy for homepage campaigns, banner advertisements and an online shop. I edited content across the site, writing and taking photographs for street fashion and music features.

Madrid
As a balmy autumn descends on Madrid, fashionistas are flitting through the city’s shadows in timeless black layered on black. From raven-black lace to sultry gothic velvet and silk, these ladies are vamping it up with chic, timeless silhouettes – pencil skirts, cinched waists and gravity-defying heels. Mix matt and shiny separates for an up to date look; accessorise with statement jewellery and smoky eyes.

Krakow
It’s back to school for the hipsters of Krakow. Ties, v-neck jerseys and sensible shoes are making a serious comeback this fall. Pick up a second-hand blazer and wear it over a tank top with drainpipe jeans for the urban intellectual look, and a pair of thick-rimmed glasses never goes amiss – whether you need them or not. Push the look with a side parting and leather satchel. This is fashion at its cleverest.

Copenhagen
The cool kids of Copenhagen know how to work a scarf, and bare necks are truly out of fashion this fall. An unlikely hit over a festival-filled summer, the right scarf can lift an outfit from casual to classy. Girls in flouncy sparkling scarves are hanging onto the bohemian vibe, while snug, stripy wraps defy the oncoming chill and chequered layers give a sophisticated look.

Scouting for Girls
Emerging from childhood proficient in the arts of fire-building and citizenship, lifelong friends Roy, Greg and Pete pooled their Christmas toys, checked their compasses and set out to navigate the music scene. And the inevitable “girls” that entails. Their jaunty, golden songs of innocence and of experience have soundtracked the summer festival circuit, and they’re going to be setting hearts alight with their debut album and new single, She’s So Lovely.
