What are words worth?

I’m a strategic and creative copywriter with a flair for language and a sharp eye for detail.

I can help you use words to:
  • develop a brand’s tone of voice
  • communicate a proposition in an engaging way
  • make readers feel like part of a community
  • ensure a website is easy to use
  • make complicated messages easy to digest.

My experience spans managing web and social media content, crafting and presenting conceptual copy, producing tone of voice and brand guidelines, developing and delivering web content strategy, and writing news and features.

What's more, I know what to do with an apostrophe.

Freshfields

I managed, wrote and edited content for a weekly global employee news channel, creating articles from scratch based on interviews with lawyers and support staff around the world.

I planned and developed content for Freshfields' London 2012 microsite, built to promote and create a buzz around the firm's sponsorship.

I wrote and finessed content for Freshfields' new global website, adhering to strict tone of voice and brand guidelines and adapting copy for different international audiences.

I wrote features for Freshfields' alumni website, interviewing former lawyers who have graduated into all manner of careers, from a cabinet minister to a pioneering female boxer.

I wrote collateral copy for pro-bono campaigns and events supported by Freshfields, such as the Katie Piper Foundation Ball.

Engage Group

I helped develop a tone of voice in line with the agency's rebrand and implemented this across web content and marketing materials.

DWP

Tasked with communicating the features and benefits of the government's new Universal Credit to a cynical workforce, I put together a storyboard and crafted copy for a microsite. I worked with the client to develop a clear, no-nonsense tone of voice and narrative that addressed the concerns employees - and the general public - might have.

Nuffield Foundation

I was briefed to rewrite an existing leaflet promoting Nuffield's science bursaries to appeal to a more diverse audience of teenagers. I created a punchy, fanzine-style booklet that centred around students' stories; clearly addressed practical concerns; and demonstrated that science could lead to an exciting career.

JTI

I planned, wrote and commissioned content for JTI's annual Corporate Philanthropy report, coordinating interviews with a lot of charity stakeholders and presenting facts and figures in an engaging way to reflect JTI's corporate philanthropy strategy.

I edited, wrote and commissioned articles for JTI's quarterly employee magazine. I developed relationships with employees of all levels across JTI's UK business, getting to know their ways of working and talking, in order to make the magazine a must-read.

Fernwood Fitness

I edited copy for marketing campaigns, member emails and newsletters; wrote articles for search engine optimisation; and managed web and social media content for Australia's leading women's fitness chain.
